AMEA members express Housing Authority concerns

For the past several months, AMEA and OCEA staff have been communicating with Housing Authority management and HR to discuss concerns and challenges expressed by AMEA members. On October 13th, we met with management and HR to discuss a need for additional training, managing growing caseloads and to learn about the plan to address upcoming vacancies.

Court Mediation Update

As many of you know, effects bargaining between OCEA workplace leaders, OCEA staff, and Court management over the Court’s proposed mandatory furloughs resulted in impasse. OCEA advanced the matter to mediation, which was held on Oct. 7, 2020.

OCEA Guidance for County/Court EME Program Participants During Open Enrollment

A valuable benefit offered to married or domestically partnered County employees (fulltime, regular or limited term) the opportunity to enroll in a County-sponsored health plan as Employee Married to Employee (EME). Under the EME Program, the County will pay more toward the cost of health plan rates for yourself, your spouse or domestic partner, and all eligible dependent children when enrolled as EME instead of enrolling separately. The County will pay 100% of the premium if the Subscriber (the primary insured person) is eligible for the OC Healthy Steps program and completes the program, or the Subscriber is exempt from the program, and 95% of the premium if the Subscriber chooses not to participate in the program.

Update: Mandatory flu shots for HCA workers

I am contacting you regarding the verification process the Health Care Agency (HCA) has established regarding mandatory flu vaccinations. The agency has directed that flu vaccination records and certifications be sent directly to Employee Health Services by email at ehs@ochca.com.
