Thank you to all who took the time to complete the negotiation survey. Based on your feedback, aside from wages, your top three priorities are:
- Medical Flex Benefit
- Retention/Longevity Bonus
- Non-PERSable Incentive for topped-out employees
Your Negotiation Committee is comprised of CMCEA President Nikki Johnson, Vice President Andrew Banner, Arash Rahimian, Kelly Dalton, Dan Inloes, Daniel Jojola, and Jason Bush. They have spent significant time preparing an initial proposal that reflects the priorities identified by CMCEA members.
We met with the City Manager for informal discussions April 2 and April 22 to better understand the City’s position heading into negotiations. While no formal proposals were exchanged during those meetings, they helped inform our approach. After careful consideration, the Negotiation Committee submitted our first proposal April 29. The proposal is scheduled to be presented to the City Council in closed session Tuesday, May 5.
Our next meeting with the City is scheduled for May 6. We will continue to keep you informed as we move through the process. Feel free to reach out to any member of the Negotiation Committee if you have any questions.
